An MFA *is* a Terminal Degree
Just another academic blog, this one by a guy who recently joined the tenure track after struggling to prove to various hiring committes that a Master of Fine Arts is, in fact, a terminal degree. I finally got hired in a department where I didn't have to prove it because, wonder of wonders, they already knew this. Yay. I am happy -- most of the time. I'm hangin' on until Friday, but basically done.
Luckily, not much grading this semester, but my MLA paper needs to get written....
i'm managing the grading well. it's all production projects (which i'm nearly done with already) and screenplays, which will take some time end of this week and into next. i should be done by mid-week.
i also need to finish prepping my syllabi and course reading schedule for next semester, but i'm nearly done with that, too. so i'm looking forward to starting the holidays by next week.
