SXSW
SXSW says 'thanks, but no thanks' to my film today.
makes me want to use certain profanities, but i'm refraining...
UPDATE: a couple of hours later, and while i'm still down, i feel better after cooking chocolate chip pancakes for my kids and watching them perform a 'roller skate show' in the garage.

Sorry to hear the news, hope you're not discouraged by this - although I know exactly how discouraging it can feel. I hope that, like me, you're inspired to submit to even more festivals now. I'll keep crossing my fingers for ya.

Thanks Nick and Laura. Technically, I have only been rejected by 8 festivals. Okay, actually, that sounds like a lot to me. Several of those are biggies (SXSW, Sundance, Slamdance). And a few are fairly small (DC Indie, Durango Indie).
So I don't know what to make of it -- rejection by fests large and small.
I am certainly trying not to get too discouraged. SXSW was one that I was really hoping for. But, you know, it's an unusual and very quirky film, so I realize it's going to have a narrow audience.
If only bloggers ran a film fest. So far, all the bloggers who've seen it really liked it!
